This is probably a really controversial subject to talk about, but we all know the LGBT community is becoming more and more acceptable here in America, like it or not. A man by the name of Jeff Jones was not able to have affordable health care because he was not able to legally marry his partner, because same sex marriage is not legal in Kentucky, where he is from. His partner, Nathan Walker, and himself have not lived together long enough to be approved for the health care. Jeff Jones is diabetic, so he really wants to know he's covered with affordable health care. Statistics show that the LGBT community has less experience with insurance and health care rather than the general population. Recently, in honor of National Coming Out Day, which was last Friday (October 11th), Kellan Baker released a LGBT friendly website to figure out insurance marketing places.
Even if you do not support the LGBT community, they are people, and they have rights too, just like we do. It's like not giving affordable health care to someone because they have a different color of skin.
